Application Process

Step 1 — Application + Deposit

Application

The GOYoungLives Childcare Application is due no later than two weeks before the camp start date. ALL VOLUNTEERS must fIll out and submit the application each year, regardless of previous service.

Deposit

AREA VOLUNTEERS: If you are coming with a local YoungLives or Young Life group, known as areas, you must register with and submit any payments to that area.

DIVISIONAL VOLUNTEERS: If you are not coming with a local YoungLives or Young Life group, you are considered a divisional volunteer and will register and then submit your deposit and balance payments on a link that receive after you register. Please view the listing of available payment options.

A deposit of $100 is required to hold your spot when you register. The balance is due four weeks prior to your camp date. The full camp fee for 2024 is $690.

Step 2 — Online Screenings

Log in to the Young Life Staff, Leader and Committee Resources Site.

Previous volunteers/users: If you don't remember your log in information, submit a username or password request with the "Forgot Username or Password" link.

New users: Within 72 hours of completing your application and deposit, you will receive an automated email with your log in information. Check your spam folder! Please act quickly, as your first time log in link will expire in two weeks.

Once logged in, you should be prompted to complete the Faith and Conduct Acknowledgement and the Criminal Background Check Authorization. If you are not, please contact your childcare administrator.

*The Faith and Conduct form must be signed every year. A background check will be run for each volunteer every three years. If your clearances are out of date or if you have never completed them, you will be prompted to complete them upon logging in.

Step 3 — Confidential Character References

Ask at least two non-relatives (employers, church family, pastors, Young Life leaders or staff, etc.) to complete the Confidential Character Reference for you. Please send the link to your references as soon as you apply and ask them to complete it within two weeks. The three reference names from your application will receive an automated email request to complete the reference form. These often get sent to junk mail, so please personally ask your references as well.

Please note: If you are under the age of 18, one reference must come from someone who has supervised you in a childcare or babysitting setting.

Step 4 — YL Health + Consent Form

Once you register on your area's childcare registration page or divisional childcare registration page, you will be emailed a link for your health form. You can click on this link to complete your Young Life Health + Consent Form.

If you have completed the Young Life Health + Consent Form, you can log on to the site and duplicate a previous health form.

Step 5 — Final Payment

AREA VOLUNTEERS: If you are coming with a local YoungLives or Young Life group (area), please submit the balance of your camp fee with your payment link. This link is unique to you and was emailed to you after you register on your area's page.

DIVISIONAL VOLUNTEERS: Your remaining balance is due via your unique payment link that was emailed to you after you registered. Your fee balance is due four weeks prior to your camp date.

The camp fee is considered a tax-deductible contribution because it is the cost associated with your volunteer service. The 2024 camp fee is $690.

Fundraising and Payment Options

Fundraising

We realize the cost of camp can be intimidating, but don't let that stop you! We would encourage you to believe God uses fundraising to build our faith. It is amazing to see how He provides! Ask if He wants you to serve in this capacity, then step out in faith to trust He will provide.

Online Fundraising

If you are interested in fundraising online to raise all or part of your camp fee, please contact the camp childcare administrator for your week of camp.

Sample Fundraising Materials

Post on social media, send out letters, or ask potential supporters in person. Your camp childcare administrator has sample letters and pledge cards if needed. Just ask!

Other Ideas

Many of our volunteers hold their own fundraising events: yard sales, bake sales, etc. to raise the GOYoungLives camp fee. Be creative!

Payment Options

If you are coming to serve for a local YoungLives or Young Life group, you must submit your payment to them via their registration page.

Online Check or Credit Card

You may submit payment online with a credit card or online check. GOYoungLives fees are considered tax-deductible donations. The $100 deposit is due immediately after you apply. The balance is due four weeks before camp.
